….Almost ten years ago, on February 7, 2007, I boarded a plane out of Miami, Florida to Grand Cayman. It is the largest of three islands that make up the Cayman Islands. I was moving from Summerville, South Carolina, a place I had called home since November 1989. In the six months leading up to February 7, my daughter left for college, I found a job on an island, I gave away, sold and packed up my belongings. I also sold a bakery/cafe I had owned and run for 10 years.
Which leads me to why I am starting this blog. What a better way for me to celebrate my journey then to share a few stories of the places I have been and things I have done since that day. The lessons I have learned along the way, the hardships, the heartbreak, the stupidity, some of my innermost thoughts, possibly some recipes and a few photos. I am not really sure how it is all gonna go. All I know is, the time has come for me to begin to share my adventure.
My name is Sherri, I am single, my cat’s name is Chloe and I am 48 years old. I currently live on Grand Cayman and have since November 2014. Here is my story…
